I just read that enough people sent complaints about the "Veronica Mars" DVD cover to the Tvshowsondvd site, that WB actually listened and changed it for the better...perhaps the same would work for this cover? Send enough complaints through Digital bits, DVDanswers, DavisDVD, this site...
It's obviously not the same studio, but you never know. |
The BBFC now lists this new extra:
TITANIC (1997) S.E. - EASTER EGG - SNL SKIT WITH BILL PAXTON AND JAMES CAMERON 4m47s |
Oh, I hope that is SO true!!!
When the Bill Paxton rerun was on, I taped it for two reasons: the Carrie spoof at the beginning and the Titanic spoof where Brock, Lizzie, and everyone else beats the crap out of Old Rose. "I just wanted to ride in a helicopter before I died. Whee... oh!" |
So, has anyone confirmed whats on the 4th euro disk? Is it the soundtrack only?
If its better, anyone know where to pre-order it? |
I can almost confirm that the US edition won't have DTS.
I don't know about the European 4-disc set, but it looks like the US version is just DD. If only Paramount would just issue a final press release...! |
I hope we get a preview of Aquaman.
|
No press release yet?
Patrick, why can you almost confirm it won't have DTS? Stew |

For a movie with the stature of Titanic, 4-disc sets seem to be the way to go. The Lord of the Rings, Pearl Harbor, Ben-Hur. They're grand. Epic. Three-disc is essentially no different from a 2-disc set for any other film. The movie is spread out over two discs, and we get one extra disc of supplemental material (not including the branched content). Most of those supplements are apparently going to be EPK. Since when are those any good? Not that any of this changes What Is. But I need to vent. I'm still upset with whoever made this call. When it comes to this film, three discs are not "good enough." Not to me. Titanic DESERVES the deluxe 4-disc treatment that other epic films have received. It's the only thing that makes sense. End of rant. For now. --THX |

This just in:
Sad news for Region 1. :grunt: Looks like Region 2 will be getting a 4-Disc release afterall. More details are coming in as the launch date of Titanic: Collector's Edition looms closer. Okay, so here's what we can tell you so far: the film will be released in a two-disc "Special Edition" and a four-disc "Deluxe Collector's Edition" in non-Region 1 Europe, Australia and Latin America. Both configurations will feature three commentary tracks, a never-before-seen nine-minute alternate ending to the film and 50 minutes of branching featurettes during the movie. The four-disc edition also will include 45 minutes of deleted scenes, a making-of documentary, production and special effects featurettes, Celine Dion's music video and DVD-ROM material. Now here's where Region 1 people may want to bite on their arms as they read on: from the looks of it, the four-disc "Deluxe Collector's Edition" will include additional bonus materials not available on the U.S. three-disc set. These will include the "HBO First Look: The Heart of the Ocean" making-of special, a collection of TV spots & trailers and three Easter Egg parody shorts ("Titanic in 30 Seconds With Bunnies," "MTV Movie Awards" and "SNL Skit With Bill Paxton and James Cameron"). Oh, and did I forget to mention that the two- and four-disc editions also will include DTS-ES 6.1 tracks? Yup, they certainly do. The domestic three-disc set will include only Dolby Digital 5.1 EX. |
wow.
well, I know which version i'll be importing... |
Gah!
|
Wow. What a bunch of scumbags. I love how Region 1 always gets the shaft.
K |
Fuck You Paramount!
|
That fucking SUCKS. Why would they do this? What possible reasons could they have??
|
I officially dislike Paramount. They have a lot to learn.
|
Guess I'll be importing now too...
|
Anyway know how I can get in touch with Paramount so I can tell him that they've ruined my childhood dream of owning a mega-version of Titanic?
|
I really can't understand why region 1 gets screwed all the time... it seems like it's the same thing with automobiles... other countries always get the better versions. Fuck you Paramount!!!
|
Knowing these money-grubbing SOBs who run Hollywood, they're gonna release the crappy 3-disc, wait two years, and release the 10th Anniversary Four-Disc Deluxe Edition.
